Generating an Arc License Key
Generating an Arc License
These instructions are for customers who have purchased an Arc subscription. If you are new to Arc and want to start a trial, see Trialling and Buying Arc first.
Note: A license must be generated on each server where Arc is installed. The license is tied to the server, not the user.
Prerequisites
The browser you use to generate the license must have internet access. Arc communicates with the Cubewise licensing server (bo.cubewise.com) to issue and validate licenses.
If you are accessing Arc on a server via Remote Desktop and the server has no internet, use a browser on your local desktop and connect to Arc via: http://ServerName:7070
For Arc servers with no internet connection at all, see: Initializing Arc Without an Internet Connection
Steps to Generate a License
1. Open License Management
Open Arc in your browser and click the License Management button in the top right corner.
If you see a message saying the browser cannot connect to the internet, switch to a browser on a machine that has internet access and connect to Arc using the server name and port, e.g. http://ServerName:7070.
2. Request a License from Your Existing Account
Go to the Request License from Existing Account tab. You can identify your account using either:
Your Customer ID (received by email after purchase), or
The email address used to purchase the subscription.
Click Request License. An email will be sent to the subscription email address from software@cubewise.com containing your License ID.
3. Validate the License
Copy the License ID from the email.
Paste it into the Validate License tab in Arc.
Click Validate.
If the Buy Now button disappears, the license is now active and Arc is fully unlocked.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
Browser can't connect to licensing server | Use a browser on a machine with internet access |
License email not received | Check the email used at purchase; check spam folder |
Buy Now button still shows | Ensure the correct License ID was pasted and validated |
