Using Arc on the IBM Cloud (Classic)
This article describes how to set up and use Arc with the IBM Cloud classic environment, accessed via the IBM-provided Remote Desktop System. These instructions apply to TM1 security mode 5 (the default).
Step 1: Set Up Arc on the Remote Desktop System
Upload the Arc executable to your IBM Cloud Remote Desktop System (use the FTP upload facility provided by IBM).
Create a folder named

arc.exeto start the Arc server.Open

Step 2: Log In Using the TM1 Non-Interactive Account
IBM Cloud uses a TM1 non-interactive account for automation tools. You must request this from IBM Support if it is not already set up.
Navigate to
http://localhost:7070in a browser on the Remote Desktop.Go to the About page (top-right icon) and enable TM1 Credentials → Store Credentials.
Click on your TM1 instance to log in using the automation credentials from your IBM welcome pack:

Step 3: Grant Admin Access to the Non-Interactive Account
After logging in, the TM1 non-interactive account must be added to the Admin group:
Log in to IBM Architect using your IBM ID.
Right-click the server → Security → Clients/Groups.
Find the TM1 automation user and tick the Admin group box.
Close and reopen Arc.
Alternative: Change TM1 to security mode 1 to avoid the need for the non-interactive account.
