Upgrading Arc for TM1

Upgrading Arc is straightforward — Arc requires no traditional installer, so upgrading simply means replacing the Arc executable with the new version.

Step 1: Download the Latest Version

Go to the Arc download page and download the latest version for your platform:
code.cubewise.com/arc-download

Unzip the downloaded archive. You will find the arc.exe file (Windows) or the equivalent binary for your OS.

Step 2: Upgrade Based on How Arc is Running

If Arc is Running as a Windows Service

  1. Stop the Arc Windows service before replacing the file:

    • Open services.msc, find Arc for TM1, and click Stop.

    • Or from an Administrator Command Prompt: net stop "Arc for TM1"

  2. Replace the old arc.exe with the new one.

  3. Start the service again: net start "Arc for TM1"

  4. Open your browser and navigate to the Arc URL (default: http://ServerName:7070) to confirm the new version is running.

If Arc is Running as a Local Process (Double-Click)

  1. Close the Arc console window (this stops Arc).

  2. Replace the old arc.exe with the new one.

  3. Double-click the new arc.exe to start Arc.

  4. A new browser tab will open with the updated version.
