Getting Started with Arc for IBM Employees

Any IBMer with an @ibm.com email address can generate their own Arc license for use at a client site or on their work computer. IBM licenses are valid for 30 days and can be regenerated quickly and easily.

Step 1: Download Arc

Go to the Arc download page and download the version for your operating system:
code.cubewise.com/arc-download

Step 2: Start Arc

  1. Unzip the downloaded file.

  2. Run arc.exe (Windows) or the equivalent for your OS.

  3. You should see the message: Server running on port: 7070

Step 3: Create an IBM License

  1. Open Arc in your browser: http://serverName:7070

  2. Click the Buy button at the top of the page.

  3. Go to the Request License from Existing Account tab.

  4. Enter your IBM email address in the Email field.

  5. Click Request License.

An email will be sent to your IBM email with a License ID.

First-Time Validation

If this is the first time you are requesting a license on this server:

  1. Copy the License ID from the email.

  2. Paste it into the Validate License tab in Arc.

  3. Click Validate.

Once the license has been validated on a server for the first time, subsequent license requests will be generated automatically — no manual validation is required.
