Pulse Data
Cubewise Pulse stores a wide range of data related to IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) environments. Here’s an overview of the main types of data it captures and maintains:
1. System Monitoring Data
Server Metrics: CPU usage, memory consumption, disk space, and uptime.
Session Information: Active user sessions, session IDs, and connection details.
Thread and Process Data: Running chores, TurboIntegrator processes, and execution times.
Logs: TM1 server logs.
2. Change Tracking & Model Metadata
Model Changes: Rules, feeders, dimensions, subsets, and process modifications.
Impact Analysis Data: Relationships between objects (rules, feeders, TI processes).
Technical Documentation: Automatically generated documentation of TM1 models.
3. User & License Analytics
User Activity: Who accessed which application, when, and for how long.
License Usage: License optimization reports to track compliance and utilization.
4. Migration & DevOps Data
Migration Packages: Includes metadata and optionally cube data (encrypted during migration).
Rollback Information: Data required to revert changes if needed.
5. Performance & Historical Data
Historical Metrics: Second-by-second tracking of TM1 performance.
Alert History: Records of triggered alerts and system health checks.
Storage Details
All this data is stored in the Pulse database (default H2 or MS SQL Server for larger environments).
Pulse also uses OpenSearch for fast querying and visualization.
Sensitive data like cube content during migration is encrypted using Pulse’s encryption key.
